Whether you’re a beginning or experienced writer, here is the place to enjoy writing without restraint as you tap your experience for the wealth of material there. Writing prompts and other creative resources inspire each week. You’ll have the chance to share your writing and learn what touches others as you build your writing skills and deepen your relationship with writing.


SATURDAY WORKSHOPS
10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., March 13, 26; April 10, 24; May 8, 22, $150/month (10% discount for workshop paid in full)

Whether you are interested in poetry, fiction, nonfiction, memoir, or journal writing, this workshop will give you time to immerse yourself in the writing life. You’ll have the luxury of a long Saturday morning to write, share writing done in workshop or at home, and get feedback on your work. We'll help each other become clearer, go deeper, take new risks. With the support and inspiration of this gathering you will have the opportunity to write in ways that are truer, more vivid, more complex, and more powerful. Methods of craft will also be taught.

FROM TRUTH TO ART: A ONE-DAY MEMOIR WRITING WORKSHOP - May 15
How do you write in first-person in a way that not only communicates but captivates?

We’ll explore and practice essentials of the craft. Through short readings of published memoir and in-workshop exercises you'll learn about story shape, dialog, description to support theme, and more. There will be time for feedback on works in progress. Limited to 8. Pre-registration required.

ONLINE MEMOIR WRITING CLASSES
Writing a book-length memoir or collection of short, first-person writings? Discover what makes the ordinary extraordinary as you master the craft of this genre and get your story told.

HOW IS IT DONE? Writings of up to 1500 words are due by email attachment on Mondays and are returned by that Friday with critique and suggestions, and light editing, if desired. Craft instruction is given individually and development consultation is available.

The course may be started at any time. It begins the first Monday of every month. Enrollment is by personal or cashier's check and must be made 7 days in advance of beginning. The online course may be continued on a monthly basis. All material is confidential.
