How do you write in first-person in a way that not only communicates but captivates? How do you transform the ordinary into the extraordinary? We’ll explore and practice the essentials of the craft. Lecture, short readings of published memoir, and writing exercises will help you with story shape, dialog, description, choosing details to support theme, scene vs. narration, and tense (present, past, and future). We’ll also discuss when fact can be fictionalized, and truth-telling. Limited to 10. Pre-registration required.
